Information

At the eastern end of the city is the Pamir Botanical Garden, the highest in the CIS and the second highest above sea level in the world (2,320 m), after the Nepal Botanical Garden. The garden was founded in 1940. The botanical garden's collection includes more than 4,000 plant species from all regions of the world. During the period of Tajikistan's independence, the garden continues to function successfully, and scientific work is carried out.
