Day 1. Dushanbe or Khujand – Camp Artuch
Departure from Dushanbe or Khujand to the Artuch Mountaineering Tourist Base. The base is situated in the Fann Mountains, close to Penjikent.
On the way, we’ll stop at the village of Panjrud to visit the Mausoleum of Abu Abdullah Rudaki - the founder of Persian and Tajik classical literature. This site offers a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of the region.
Upon arrival at Artuch Camp, we’ll check in and settle into our rooms. In the evening, we’ll gather for dinner, followed by a cozy campfire evening - a perfect opportunity to unwind, share stories, and enjoy the tranquil mountain atmosphere.
Day 2. Camp Artuch – Kulikalon lakes – Camp Artuch
Day 2. Camp Artuch – Kulikalon lakes – Camp Artuch
After breakfast, we’ll prepare for the hike to the Kulikalon Lakes with a guide. For those who prefer not to walk, there will be an option to ride donkeys - 4–5 animals will be available for the climb. The ascent to the lakes takes around 3 hours.
Once we arrive at Kulikalon Lake, you’ll discover that it’s actually a chain of seven lakes: six of medium size and one large lake. The largest of them, Kulikalon, covers an area of 580 sq. m. All the lakes are situated near the vast Kulikalon Depression at an altitude of 2 832 meters above sea level.
We’ll have a picnic by the lakeshore and then go on an excursion through the valley. Afterwards, we’ll hike back to the camp. You’ll have some free time to relax and take in the mountain views before dinner. In the evening, we’ll watch films and enjoy dance programs.
Day 3. Chukurak Lake - Dushanbe
Day 3. Chukurak Lake - Dushanbe
In the morning, after breakfast, we’ll set off for a short hike to Lake Chukurak. The walk will take about 30 minutes. Once there, we’ll continue with an excursion through the Chukurak Gorge, where we’ll have the opportunity to meet and visit with local residents. After exploring the gorge, we’ll make our way back to the camp.
In the afternoon, we’ll gather for lunch at the camp before saying farewell to the group. Then, a camp vehicle will transport us back to Dushanbe (or Khujand).
We expect to arrive in Dushanbe at 17:00, which marks the end of the service.
