Day 4. Khorog - Garmchashma - Ishkashim

Day 4. Khorog - Garmchashma - Ishkashim

• Breakfast.
• Trip to Garmchasma, a hot spring and balneological high-altitude resort located 42 km from the city of Khorog in a picturesque gorge on the Garmchashma river at an altitude of 2325 m above sea level on the western slope of the Shahdara Range. The water temperature reaches +59°C, and the composition includes the most valuable trace elements: magnesium, fluorine, iron, aluminum, and strontium, believed to help with a number of skin and gynecological diseases, as well as diseases of the musculoskeletal system.

• Departure towards Ishkashim, a village located in the south-eastern part of Tajikistan, on the bank of the Panj River, on the border with Afghanistan, 104 km south of the city of Khorog; lunch on the road.

Day 5. Ishkashim - Langar

• Departure to Langar, a picturesque village in the upper part of the Vahan Corridor at the confluence of the Pamir and Vakhandarya rivers, forming the Panj River.
• Visit to the Sufi Mubaraki Wahani Museum (1839-1903) - an Ismaili mystical poet, philosopher, musician, astronomer, and religious scientist, sometimes called the Leonardo da Vinci of Yamg. His unique work and heritage are kept in his house-museum in his native village of Yamg. In front of the house, there is a stone calendar, which Vahani used to accurately determine the onset of the day of the vernal equinox (March 21) and the Navruz holiday.

• Inspection of the Buddhist stupa in the village of Wrang, Bibi Fotimai Zuhro hot spring.
• Picnic on the way.
• Visit to the fortress of Kakh-Kaha (III century BC - VII century AD) - one of the ancient and well-preserved fortifications of Vahan on the right bank of Panj, a kilometer from the village of Namatgut (likely named from the Sanskrit word "namat," meaning saint, and "gata," meaning place, confirmed by the nearby holy mazar (tomb) of Hazratshoi Mardon). Kakh-Kaha is located on the Wakhan branch of the Great Silk Road.
• Visit to the fortress of Yamchun, known among the local population as Zamri Otashparast (fortress of fire worshippers), near the village of Yamchun, 3 km from Wrang.
• Changes in altitudes during the day: 2500 - 2900 m above sea level.
• Arrival in Langar.

Day 6. Langar - Murgab

• Departure through the Hargush pass (4,091 m) and the picturesque Alichur valley to the village of Murgab (170 km, 6 hours). The valley is located at an altitude of 3000 m and is surrounded by snowy mountain peaks.
• On the way, acquaintance with the life of the local population, visiting yurts, and riding yaks (optional).
• Murgab is a small village near the Chinese border, the highest (3600 m) and the most remote district center in the region.
