Day 2. Artuch - Kulikalon Lakes - Bibidzhanat Lake
We embark on an invigorating ascent to the legendary Kulikalon Lakes via a well‑maintained trail. To ease acclimatization in the high‑altitude environment, donkeys will carry our backpacks during the first days - allowing you to fully enjoy the journey with minimal physical strain.
The route begins with a scenic climb past a majestic waterfall, then winds through the foothills of the Khodzharovat and Ruzirovat mountains. As we gain elevation, breathtaking vistas unfold: the imposing Kulikalon Wall and neighbouring peaks exceeding 4 000 m - including Adamtash, Mirali, and Rudaki - rise dramatically against the sky.
Our destination is the extraordinary Kulikalon Lakes system, comprising 14 lakes with mesmerizing crystal‑clear waters in vibrant shades of emerald and blue. These high‑mountain lakes are home to cold‑water fish species such as Marinka, adding to their ecological significance.
The trail leads us through a picturesque juniper forest, where the air is infused with the soothing aroma of conifers. After a nourishing lunch, we’ll take a leisurely walk around the lakes in the Kulikalon Depression, soaking in the tranquil beauty of this alpine paradise.

From the top, we’ll see the majestic Chapdara Peak (5 197 meters) standing tall against the sky, along with the vast Chapdara River Valley stretching into the distance. Below us, the Alauddin Lakes will come into view, their waters shimmering in beautiful shades of light and deep blue.

History of Big Allo Lake:Big Allo Lake has an interesting story. In 1912, a major earthquake caused part of the West Fann Mountains to collapse, creating a natural dam that blocked the river and formed the lake. Big Allo, shaped like a bean and filled with icy-cold, bright blue water, is considered the most majestic and beautiful of the thirty Fann Lakes.
Overnight: We'll camp in tents near the shore of Big Allo Lake.
