Tour in brief

We will drive you to high Mountain lake – Iskandarkul (2 255 m). It is situated in the famous Fann Mountains. This famous area is one of the best places of Central Asia. The road to the lake goes through Anzob pass with amazing panorama views. During the tour we will have the opportunity to also see Serpent Lake, Artuch camping site, Haltkul (7 lakes), Panjakent city and Sarazm settlement.

Tour program

Day 1. Dushanbe-Iskandarkul-Artuch

We start early in the morning and drive through Varzob Valley and Anzob pass. When we get to Iskandarkul we will go hikking to a waterfall for 40 minutes and then we will visit the Serpent Lake. We will have lunch, after which we will visit Alexander the Great’s cave. From there we will drive to Artuch camping site, where we stay overnight in a guest house.

Day 2. Artuch-Haftkul

We will explore Artuch, stroll a bit and then head to Haftukul (7 Lakes). We will hike from the 6th lake to the 7th, go to the end of the lake and come back to the 6th lake and stay there overnight in a guest house.

Day 3. Haftkul-Panjakent

We will enjoy the beautiful view and go to Panjakent passing by the golden mountain. We will explore Panjakent city and the ruins of the ancient Sogdian settlement, known as the Ancient Panjakent in the southern suburbs of modern Panjakent. It was even named "Central Asian Pompeii". We will also explore another old settlement called Sarazm, Museum of Rudaki – as Panjakent is a birthplace of Abu Abdallah Rudaki, considered by many to be the father of Persian Poetry. Lunch at traditional restaurant.

Day 4. Panjakent -Dushanbe

We will visit the market and the mosque in Panjakent and head to Dushanbe.
