The tour program first includes a small tour of Dushanbe and the Hisor Fortress near the capital, then the three largest cities in Sughd region, Istravshan, Khujand and Panjakent. We will also have time to get to the famous 7 Marguzor Lakes (Haftkul) in the Fann Mountains.

Day 1. Arrival and tour of Dushanbe

• Arrival in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan.

• After breakfast - a sightseeing tour of the city: Dusti Square, Ismail Somoni Memorial Complex (the founder of the first Tajik state), Rudaki Avenue, and the National Museum of Antiquities with an interesting collection of ancient artifacts, including a 12-meter clay figure of Buddha in Nirvana. Day 2. Arrival and tour of Hisor

• The city of Khujand is the second largest city in Tajikistan on the banks of the Syrdarya River, founded by Alexander the Great during his Asian campaign in the IV century BC.

• Visit to the Arbob Palace, where young women handmade national Tajik clothes from satin and adras, as well as silk and cotton.

Day 5. Panjakent

• Breakfast.
• Departure to Panjakent, one of the ancient cities in the world, where the 5.5-thousand-year-old historical and archaeological monument of Sarazm is located, attracting the attention of archaeologists from all over the world. By a UNESCO decree, Sarazm was included in the list of world historical monuments protected by this organization.
• Several photo stops when descending to the valley of the Zerafshan River, as well as in the village of Dar Dar, where Gulnazar Keldiyev was born – poet, author of Tajikistan’s anthem lyrics.

• A walk through the village to get acquainted with the traditions and way of life of the mountain dwellers.

• Arrival in Panjakent.
• Visit of the excavations of ancient Panjakent with its medieval citadel, residential buildings with wall paintings, necropolis. The ancient settlement received special fame thanks to the wall paintings preserved under the rubble for 1300 years.

Day 6. Panjakent - Haftkul

• Breakfast.
• Visit to the museum named after Rudaki, bazaar and mosques of Olim Dodho.
• Departure to the Haftkul Valley or the seven Marguzor Lakes at the foot of the Fan Mountains.
• Picnic near Lake 3 or 6.
• Visiting all lakes by car. The Marguzor lakes, the beauty of which resembles precious stones in the necklace of the beauty, have different colors and are the pearl of the Fan Mountains.

• The famous Soviet poet and singer Yuri Vizbor translated his memories of the Fan Mountains into a beautiful song in Russian, that you can find on YouTube, in which he says:
"I left my heart in the Fann Mountains,
Now I walk heartless on the plains,
And in quiet conversations, and in noisy feasts,
I silently dream of blue peaks."
