Day 1. From Dushanbe to the Heart of Khovaling

8:00–9:00 AM: Departure from Dushanbe (depending on the guests' preference). Enjoy a scenic drive through southern Tajikistan, leaving behind the city’s bustle.

First Stop: Nurek Dam One of the world’s tallest dams, the Nurek Dam provides stunning views of its emerald-blue reservoir. A brief stop allows time to appreciate the grandeur of this engineering marvel and take some memorable photos.

Continue to Hulbuk Fortress The next stop is the Hulbuk Fortress, an ancient citadel located near Kulob, steeped in history and culture. Spend time exploring the ruins and imagining the centuries of life that passed through this fortress, a key historical site in Tajikistan’s southern region.

Drive through Kulob City Passing through Kulob, one of Tajikistan’s oldest cities, you’ll get a glimpse of local life in this vibrant town before continuing to your destination.

Arrival in Khovaling: 3:00 PM Reach the tranquil Khovaling District around 3:00 PM, where you will check into your accommodation. The remainder of the afternoon is reserved for relaxation or exploring the local village, giving you a unique opportunity to experience authentic rural life and connect with the local community.

Dinner & Evening
Enjoy a traditional Tajik dinner made with locally sourced ingredients. The evening is yours to enjoy, whether relaxing at the guesthouse or exploring more of the area before settling in for the night.

8:00 AM: After a delicious breakfast, get ready to head to the highlight of your trip - the Childukhtaron Mountains. The drive will take approximately one hour, leading you into the dramatic landscapes of this legendary region.

Morning Hike to Childukhtaron The Childukhtaron Mountains are steeped in legend and natural beauty. You’ll hike through breathtaking scenery to the top, where you can enjoy sweeping views of the surrounding valleys. The peaceful atmosphere of this remote destination makes it a perfect escape.

Picnic Lunch at the Summit After reaching the peak, unwind with a packed picnic lunch surrounded by the majestic cliffs of Childukhtaron, famous for the story of the “Forty Girls” who, according to legend, turned to stone to escape invaders.

Optional Visit: Museum of Vose If you’re interested in adding a cultural stop, the return trip offers the chance to visit the Museum of Vose, located in Khovaling District. The museum honors the legacy of the regional hero Vose and gives insight into the area’s history and culture.

3:00–3:30 PM: Begin your journey back to Dushanbe, taking in the changing landscapes as you head toward the capital city.

8:00 PM: Arrive back in Dushanbe, concluding your two-day adventure filled with history, culture, nature, and unforgettable memories.
