Day 1. Dushanbe city tour
Start your day with a delicious breakfast. Afterwards, we'll depart for a full-day exploration of Dushanbe, Tajikistan's vibrant capital, immersing ourselves in its culture and history.
Our morning will be dedicated to discovering the city's key landmarks. We'll enjoy an insightful visit to a museum, perhaps the National Museum of Antiquities which houses incredible archaeological treasures, including the famous "Buddha in Nirvana" statue. We'll then stroll through the impressive Somoni Square and relax in the beautiful Rudaki Park, both central and serene green spaces. You'll also get to see the towering Flagpole, one of the world's tallest, before visiting a significant local mosque and exploring the serene Botanical Garden. To experience the city's lively pulse, we'll immerse ourselves in the bustling atmosphere of Mehrgon Bazaar.
For lunch, we'll savor traditional Tajik cuisine at a local restaurant within Dushanbe.
In the afternoon, our journey takes us about 30 kilometers outside the city to the historic Hisor Fortress. This ancient open-air museum, with its impressive walls and well-preserved structures, offers a fascinating glimpse into Tajikistan's rich past and its strategic importance on the Silk Road.
The entire tour, including travel time, will span approximately 7-8 hours and cover a total distance of about 150 kilometers.
